Your team is already using AI. Do they know where the line is?
A free live session for people doing science in Australian industry. What AI can safely do on real research work, what it cannot, and where the legal and IP lines actually sit. Practical, specific, no hype, with live Q&A at the end.

Why this session exists
Most people in science-based companies are in one of two situations right now.
Either they're using AI quietly on real work and hoping nobody asks too many questions about what went into the prompt. Or they've been told to leave it alone, and they're watching competitors move faster while they wait for a policy that nobody is actually writing.
Neither is a good place to be. Generic, often hyped “AI for business” advice overlooks what matters in a research context: which tasks are safe, which tools retain your data, and what happens to confidentiality when you paste unpublished results into a chat window.
This session is 45 minutes of the specific version.
What you'll walk away with
- A clear line between safe and unsafe. Which research tasks AI handles well, which ones it quietly ruins, and how to tell the difference.
- The confidentiality and IP answer. What happens to your data in the major tools, which settings change that, and what to do about unpublished results.
- Prompting that works on technical material. Including the technique participants consistently rate highest: getting the AI to interview you before it does the task.
- A shortlist of tools worth your time. Tested on real research work.
- Live Q&A. Bring the specific situation you're stuck on.
Plus: everyone who registers gets the slides and recording afterwards, whether they attend or not.
Who this is for
People doing or leading technical work in Australian industry: R&D and product teams in biotech, pharma and medtech, environmental and engineering consultancies, and scientific equipment and instrumentation companies.
Scientists, engineers, technical writers, regulatory and R&D leads. It suits you whether you're already using AI daily or you've barely touched it. No technical prerequisites.
Who it isn't for
If you're after AI marketing tactics, content generation at volume, or the magic fix to your inbox chaos, this isn't your session. This is about research and technical work specifically.
Who's running it
I'm Dr Tullio Rossi. PhD marine biologist turned science communicator, and founder of Animate Your Science in Adelaide.
Since 2017 we've trained more than 9,000 researchers across 45 countries, and for the past three years AI has been by far our most requested topic. I've delivered AI training for universities, research institutes and companies across Australia and Europe, which means I've now heard several hundred versions of the question you're about to ask.
I'm not an AI evangelist and I'm not selling you a tool. I teach researchers how to use these things well without crossing lines that matter.

What participants say
“Tullio's AI workshop was a game changer. I was able to develop a precision ag AI coding business from within the company I work for, and now I've also applied for and obtained funding ($360k) for a machine learning project to optimise the application of nitrogen in dryland farming.”
Dr Fabio Arsego, Agronomist, AgSafe Merchandise
“This is an excellent introductory course for scientists looking to explore AI but unsure where to start. Tullio breaks down the essentials, covering both practical applications and key ethical considerations. He tested a wide range of tools and shares which ones are worth your time and how to use them effectively.”
Caroline Courme, CEO, SciCom Cube
“So good I do not want you to share this with my colleagues and competitors!”
Prof. Sean Connell, Adelaide University
